Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada issued 3,900 invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence under the Express Entry System today. The lowest score to receive an ITA today was 440 which is the same score as the previous Express Entry Draw.
On August 28, 2018, the Canadian and Australian Governments agreed to expand the age range in the Memorandum of Understanding between Canada and Australia relating to youth mobility. Australian citizens will now be able to apply for a Canadian work permit under the International Experience Canada Program if they are 18 to 35 years of age (inclusive). Until now, Australian citizens had to be 18 to 30 years of age (inclusive) to participate in this Program.

The Government of Quebec has announced changes to many of its immigration programs, including the Quebec Skilled Worker and Quebec Experience programs. Both programs will be moving to an Expression of Interest system (similar to the Federal Express Entry System), and candidates with the highest points scores will be invited to apply on a periodic basis. The economic programs will no longer be processed on a “first in, first out” basis.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has brought forward the deadline to submit an application for Canadian permanent residence under the Express Entry System. If you received an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence under the Express Entry System before today, you have 90 calendar days to submit your application. However, if you receive an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence under the Express Entry System from today onward, you must submit your application within 60 calendar days.
